Next stop: New York City!

Yeap.... Finally it is my turn to come and get myself engrossed in the great Uzhavar Santhai that has been the fascination of all Indians.

And so will I begin my post-dogging era in 'The city' by Jan 2010.

Fun!

It's so much fun to annoy people who think that they are so damn powerful!

Song of the day!

Everyday, a song takes the centre stage in my brain and refuses to leave the whole day. Today this is the song... as usual from the Master!

Hatred

Can't understand why the youth of today get so hyper when something negative happens and concentrate all their energy in keeping hatred in focus and also propagating it!

It is the responsibility of every responsible human being to stand up for the rights of fellow beings but there is a very fine line that decides whether one is constructive or destructive with such emotions!

Thou art all love!

Ohhh...Mother Nature... I was thinking that your kindness was reserved only for me. You have always embraced me in my loneliness, whisphered sweet songs into my ears, numbed my pains and put me to sleep. You always had a place where I can retreat from the meanness of this materialistic world. You never judged me before taking me into your warm and affectionate arms. Not a word of reprimand came from you, everytime when I messed up things with my life!

I knew that you are full of kindness, patience and love but today I saw the depth of it. You don't discriminate also - that you see the soul of anything and everything and you feel the longing of what seem to be a mere object to the worldly beings. That you would also embrace, comfort and make feel everybody wanted and that no one is alone in this world! Thou art all love... Thy kindness is uncomparable!

Quinoa

This is my latest adventure in eating healthy! And I loved this! The Quinoa seeds are easy to cook and has a nice nutty taste which is well with me. So far I tried three different preparations and I was satisified with it.

When I first came across the information about these seeds, I was surprised at their nutrient content and the first question that came to my mind is "If quinoa is such a complete food, then why not grow it in large amounts and sent it to countries where malnutrition is a big problem?!".
And when I prodded Google God for more information, I learned that the WHO and UNICEF are aware of quinoa and its nutritional value but large cultivation and harvest of these seeds seems to be a problem.

As far as I can think of, in India, farmers are used to growing and harvesting seasame seeds which are also very small. I am not so much informed about the quinoa plants itself and whether they are problematic to grow or need special environmental conditions. Anyways, the first step is to know whether quinoa as food would be appealing to people of different cultures and eating habits. From my experience with cooking and eating quinoa, I believe that it should appeal.

Something for me to keep in mind for the future!
